We make Shannon lifeboats. But you make them happen
Give more crews a craft as dependable as they are
When lifeboat volunteers launch into unpredictable seas, they need certainty. The kind of certainty that comes from world-class training. And from knowing they’re aboard the charity’s most advanced all-weather lifeboat – the Shannon class. A craft capable of handling the roughest of conditions. But we need to build more of them to replace the older lifeboats in the fleet. Your donation will help to make new Shannons a reality, ensuring that more volunteer crews can safely bring home those in peril at sea.

Meet the team behind the lifesaving stories of the Shannon

THE SENIOR FLEET STAFF COXSWAIN
‘The Shannon packs incredible capabilities into its 13m length.’ - Andrew McHaffie

THE ENGINEERING APPRENTICE
‘Monitors give the crew control from their seats, keeping them safe.’ – Harvey Zimmer

THE SENIOR CAD ENGINEER
‘It’s the RNLI’s first all-weather lifeboat designed and built entirely in-house.’ – Lorena Rubio-Sabater

THE PERSON RESCUED
‘I’ll never forget catching sight of that lifeboat’ – Pamela Muirhead
The Shannon can be launched straight from the shore, so volunteers save precious minutes setting off on a rescue
Just as they did when they saved a paddleboarder – Pamela – swept 3 miles out. Whatever the rescue, the Shannon is versatile enough to earn the trust of the crew. Your gift will help us replace older lifeboats and modernise the fleet.
