Spot the Dangers

Work together to identify and describe dangers near the water

  • 30 minutes
  • Required: printer
  • Optional: display equipment
  • Optional: white board pens
  • Stop and think

Choosing an illustrated waterside worksheet from an environment most relevant to the children, give them 10–15 minutes in pairs to identify the hazards and explain how they think they could be made safer.

Many safety messages can be covered using this worksheet as a starting point. Each hazard links back to one of the four key RNLI water safety messages:

  1. Stop and think
  2. Stay together
  3. Float
  4. Call 999 or 112.
