‘Here’s a skill everyone should practise’: Jacob Ward finds his float

Jacob Ward is a fitness influencer, followed by hundreds of thousands of people across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. But his latest video shows how he faced a very different training challenge when he visited the RNLI College - the charity’s lifesaving training facility.

Jacob – who is no stranger to personal training and workouts in the pool – swapped his hybrid training routine for a session in the sea survival pool alongside an RNLI lifeguard. His mission? To find his float. A skill everyone should practise – because, if you get into difficulty in the water, floating can save your life.

So, how did he get on? Watch the video to find out.

As Jacob discovered, we all float differently – by practising how you float and learning what it looks and feels like to you, you’ll be prepared if you need to use this skill in an emergency.
