Peterhead RNLI launch following HM Coastguard request to conduct welfare check
Peterhead RNLI was tasked to launch by HM Coastguard to conduct a welfare check on a local sailor who had been anchored in Sanford Bay over a number of days.
The lifeboat crew were quickly able to establish that all was well with both sailor and vessel, and that the sailor had been taking some much needed rest after having sailed over from Holland.
The Peterhead RNLI charity lifeboat then returned to station, was washed down and made ready again for service.
Kyle Murray, Peterhead RNLI coxswain says: 'We were pleased to be able to attend the vessel and confirm that all was well with the sailor, resulting in a positive outcome. If you ever believe someone is in difficulty at sea, it’s vital to call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.'
