Surfer and RNLI Lifeguard Supervisor Will Glenn explains why he respects the water

'Thinking about the times when growing up; surfing beaches at home and around the world, I have got into trouble a few times, whether it be due to injury or lack of knowledge about the area.

'Luckily, people have gone out of their way to lend a helping hand and that's what attracted me to become a beach lifeguard.

'When I travel around the world, I always make sure I ask the advice of the local lifeguard before heading into the sea.’

If lifeguards hadn’t been there to lend a helping hand, I could have got into some serious trouble. And that's why I #RespectTheWater.
